Scientist / Project Manager 


Job Description

Applied Pathologist Systems (APS) is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated full-time employee to join the company. As a senior scientist, you will work closely with a group of talented scientists, histologists, and pathologists to manage and execute research projects to support our clients globally. You will also be responsible for exploring, initiating, and directing the research and development activities supported by APS or external agencies.

Responsibilities

A successful candidate shall:

  • Manage and perform a variety of histopathology experiments following existing SOP in a timely manner.
  • Develop and/or validate new protocols based on project requirements.
  • Record, organize and analyze data, prepare research reports and documents.
  • Write proposals for internal R&D activities, apply for grants or other contract opportunities.
  • Design and execute in vivo studies (e.g. regular, syngeneic, humanized mouse models) aimed at areas of PKPD, toxicology and cancer biology.
  • Work with flexibility in a fast-paced industrial research environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and collaborators with diverse backgrounds.
  • Mentor and guide other scientists in the team.
  • Commit to scientific rigor, high data quality and careful documentation.


Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Passionate about our purpose and genuinely care about our mission to conduct the best possible quality of research and development.
  • Enthusiastic to grapple with the unknown and be innovative in applying new knowledge and technologies to meet challenges.
  • Extensive working experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, and pharmacology; Strong expertise performing in vivo studies.
  • Capable of developing and validating new assay protocols, collecting, organizing, documenting, and presenting data.
  • Hands-on experience with immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining, immunofluorescent (IF) staining, and image analysis using common software is preferred.
  • Work experience in a CLIA, GCP or GLP laboratory is a big plus, but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and verbal English.

Associate Scientist


Job description

Applied Pathology Systems (APS) is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated full-time employee to join the company. As an Associate Scientist, you will work closely with a group of talented scientists, histologists, and pathologists to execute research projects contracted from clients across the United States. You could also have the opportunity to perform on histopathology samples in clinical settings in the near future. We are looking for a long-term partner to provide first class services covering both research projects and clinical histopathology.

 

Responsibilities

A successful candidate shall:

  • Perform a variety of laboratory experiments following existing SOPs, protocols, or instructions from the supervisor.
  • Develop and/or validate new protocols based on project requirements.
  • Record and organize data; perform data analysis as necessary. 
  • Prepare research reports and archive research documents.
  • Work flexibly in a fast-paced industrial research environment.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor, or MS degree in Biological Sciences or related Biomedical fields is required.
  • Strong drive to develop one’s career in the biomedical field.
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills and knowledge for professional development.
  • Solid hands-on experience with immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining, immunofluorescent (IF) staining, and image analysis using common software is preferred.
  • Experience with histology sample handling is a plus, but not required.
  • Working experience in a CLIA, GCP or GLP laboratory is a big plus, but not required.
